Ontario – E-smokes

The manager of the Canadian Cancer Society in Frontenac – Lennox & Addington calls it a huge milestone.
Doug Kane says the cancer society is celebrating a new law passed in Ontario that means electronic cigarettes will be treated the same way as regular smokes.  It means they can’t be sold to anyone under 19 and can’t be used in areas where regular tobacco is banned.
The law governing e-cigarettes is due to come into play on January 1, 2016.
Ontario’s new Making Healthier Choices Act also bans the sale of flavoured tobacco including menthol cigarettes, increases maximum fines for those who sell tobacco to anyone who is underage and requires restaurants with 20 or more outlets to put calorie counts on their menus.
