Moose

Looking for a big bundle of fur to add to your family? Handsome Moose is a KHS veteran who first arrived at the shelter in December of 2015. He was adopted out to a home for a period of a year but, unfortunately, had to be returned as he did not get along with another canine in the household. We have gotten to know sweet Moose’s personality both here at the shelter and in foster care and have found that he is a loving, affectionate, and playful dog. He also has a stubborn streak and will need an owner that would be willing to work with him to learn his manners and his place in the family. Moose does show a bit of anxiety when in new situations, and will do best with a family who understands the Pyrenees breed. They are livestock guardians by nature, and he is true to his breed, so it is important potential adopters do some breed research. He is looking for a home with no other pets and would be best suited to a rural home where he can enjoy a large outdoor space. When Moose gets excited, he forgets that he weighs over 100lbs and might jump up on you. For this reason, we are looking for a family without children under the age of 8 years and a dog experienced owner who will be able to meet his needs. Moose will require regular brushing to keep his coat looking its best. It may sound like a handful, but we are confident that with some TLC in the right home, this pooch will be a perfect companion! If you think this BIG gem might be the right match for your family, drop by the KHS today for a visit.
