The Lykoi (Greek word for wolf) is a fairly recent breed of cats who are known for their big eyes and sparse grey/black coat make them look a lot like (fictional) werewolves, monkeys or even opossums.

The breed was established with five felines born in the United States during 2011 and was recognized by The International Cat Association (TICA) in 2012.

The Lykoi cat is a partially or almost entirely hairless cat that is genetically distinct from the Canadian Sphynx.

A unique characteristic of the cat breed is that the Lykoi sheds a lot of when older but regrows its hair later in life. The hairless face and grey coat of the Lykoi gives it a werewolfish appearance.

These cats display are very intelligent, affection, and friendliness to people.
