School buses are not operating in Prince Edward County today because of heavy snowfall overnight.

A Kingston man who had operated an asbestos removal company has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for failing to properly dispose of asbestos waste.

Students will be getting an extra PA day this year thanks to the new collective agreement reached between the province and elementary and secondary teachers.

The additional PA day will take place on Monday, February 29th.

The Limestone District School Board says students will still have the same number of days in school but they will now have three PA days a year.

The date was coordinated with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and the Hastings Prince Edward Board.

Sweet Ride

A Kingston man had a hand in the 2015 Street Rodder Magazine…Street Rod of the Year.

The 1932 Ford Five-Window Coupe was selected from top ten finishers at 10 shows across North America last year.

It was built by Jeff Norwell of East Garafraxa…in the Orangeville area of Ontario.

41 year old Dan Thomas of Kingston did the body work and paint job.

Thomas worked on the project on his own time and says when he got the shell of the 32 Ford it looked like someone had pounded it with a hammer.

He’s been doing body work for about 20 years and works at CARSTAR- Limestone in Kingston.

The 2015 Street Rod of the Year is featured in an article on the HotRod.com website.
